During New Zealand’s Covid-19 lockdown, an alcoholic man is confined in a temporary holding facility where he meets a mysterious stranger who claims a connection to a mythical Taniwha. As their bond deepens, the man is forced to confront his addiction and the personal demons holding him captive, in a story that blurs the line between reality and spirituality, offering a path to redemption.
As Business Consultant to the star-studded team behind ‘The Taniwha’ an impact-driven short film, incorporating Māori Mythology. I led the first round of investment, securing the necessary funds to bring the film to life. Working closely with the Director and Producer I successfully obtained 90,000 NZD from the New Zealand Film Commission.
